Small industrial zones set to be established in Tashkent region
On August 10, 2017, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev adopted a Decree "On establishment of small industrial zones in the Tashkent region".
On August 10, 2017, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev adopted a Decree "On establishment of small industrial zones in the Tashkent region".
The document aims at full use of the rich natural, economic, mineral resources, scientific-technical and industrial potential of the region, further supporting and encouraging the development of new competitive industrial and small private enterprises and the deepening of industrial cooperation, creating new jobs and increasing incomes.
In accordance with the document, small industrial zones will be created on the basis of production areas and land plots.
The document established that:
- immovable state property located in the territory of the SIZ, is given to businesses in the long-term lease for a period of 10 years, with the subsequent granting of the right of ownership. The execution of business plans, creation and preservation of jobs, timely payment of all taxes and other obligatory payments is compulsory;
- a zero rate of rent is set for the use of immovable state property located in the territory of the SIZ.
Repayment of loans is made in national currency at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the maturity date, in accordance with repayment schedules.
