Tashkent to host International Aviation Forum

In February, the capital of Uzbekistan will host the first international Uzbekistan Airports, Aviation & Logistics Forum. The air forum will help to attract the world's leading airlines to the country. This and much more was discussed at a press conference held in Tashkent.

It is expected that the international aviation forum will see a large number of international logistics specialists, heads of transport ministries, high-ranking representatives of airports, aviation and transport companies from the UK, Germany, France, Canada, India, Brazil, Turkey, Kuwait, Egypt, Russia, China and South Korea.

“More than 300 representatives from 32 countries will take part in the forum, including such companies as Boeing and Jetcraft, Air Charter Service, Bombardier Business Jets, Lufthansa Consulting, Pegasus Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air Astana and others”, - said Elyor Ganiev, Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan

The International Forum will also host high-level meetings, conferences, exhibitions and interesting presentations, including those related to the development of tourism.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for tourism development Aziz Abdukhakimov, due to the successful territorial location, climate and a great number of unique historical places, the potential of Uzbekistan in the development of competitive aviation industry in the world market is huge.

Our neighbors do not have such tourist opportunities as we do. Our transit potential is huge. Uzbekistan has every chance of becoming a transit hub in the near future”, - commented on Abdukhakimov.

To turn this into reality, in the coming years, the government of Uzbekistan has planned a number of measures to expand the country's logistics capabilities.

From now on, we will work on creating new airlines. Uzbekistan Airways monopoly has finished,it is over. At least 5 or 6 companies will appear in the market in the near future. The quality of passenger transport will also improve. The challenges are huge. This also applies to the transport of goods. By creating competitive conditions, I think we can create an aviation hub. We will be able to fly in all directions since we are located in the center of the continent”, - concluded Ganiev.

The International Aviation Forum is scheduled for February 19-20, 2020. The national exhibition complex "Uzexpocenter" was chosen as a platform for this purpose.
