Uzbekistan exports $4.5 million worth hot pepper in 7 months

The Cabinet of Ministers in January this year adopted a decision to launch the mass production of hot pepper on the basis of foreign experience. This culture is grown in Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Fergana and Khorezm regions. Plantations of bitter pepper in these regions occupy more than 17 thousand hectares.  The dominant role is given to Karakalpakstan, where the crops of exotic crops are located on 15 thousand hectares.

The export earnings from the supply of hot pepper for seven months amounted to $4.5 million, according to" Narodnoe Slovo " with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

It is expected that Uzbekistan will receive more than 207 thousand tons of bitter pepper in 2018.
