Ravshan Irmatov officially ends his career as FIFA referee

A special ceremony was held at the AFC headquarters to mark the official end of Ravshan Irmatov's career as a FIFA referee.

Irmatov's career as a judge lasted more than 16 years. He is the absolute record holder for the number of matches in the final stages of world cups: at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa he refereed five games, four-in the 2014 World Cup, and two-in the 2018 World Cup matches in Russia.

At the ceremony, he received a commemorative award for his contribution to the development of football.

After completing his career as a referee, Ravshan Irmatov intends to develop refereeing in Asia as a member of the AFC Refereeing Committee and raise the level of domestic football as the First Vice-President of the Football Association of Uzbekistan.
