Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with UNWTO General Secretary
On August 27, 2017, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai, who arrived in our country to participate in the international conference "Central Asian Renaissance in the history of world civilization" in Samarkand.
On August 27, 2017, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai, who arrived in our country to participate in the international conference "Central Asian Renaissance in the history of world civilization" in Samarkand.
During the last conversation, the sides exchanged views on the state and prospects of deepening relations between Uzbekistan and the UNWTO, in which our country has participated since 1993.
A number of documents have been adopted at the initiative of Uzbekistan in the framework of the UNWTO, including: "Samarkand Declaration on tourism development on the Silk Road" (1995), "The Khiva Declaration on tourism and preservation of cultural heritage" (1999), "Bukhara Declaration on tourism along the Silk Road" (2002), etc.
The meeting underscored mutual interest in consistent implementation of the existing potential of cooperation, based on rich historical, architectural and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people.
