Uzbekistan sends humanitarian aid to Iran

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan has sent humanitarian aid comprised of protective equipment and medicines to Iran due to the spread of the coronavirus, the press service of the Ministry reported.

According to the order of the government, the cargo weighing 6 tons includes sterile medical gloves, protective coveralls, medical uniforms, medical masks, gauze and alcohol, hygiene gel and medicines. The special board is accompanied by two doctors of the Ministry of emergency situations. They will be quarantined for two weeks upon arrival.

Also today, the Ministry of Emergency Situations will pick up 28 Uzbek citizens on their way back from Iran, including 14 drivers who remained at the closed Iranian-Turkmen border, as well as students, entrepreneurs and individuals.
