Transactions of apartments to be certified in the absence of debts

From 2024, notaries in Uzbekistan will certify transactions with apartments only if the owner has no debts on compulsory contributions or house maintenance payments. This is envisaged by Presidential decree on the management of apartment buildings.

Debt verification will be carried out through the system of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services. The minimum amount of contributions or payments for the maintenance, operation and repair of common property, as well as the improvement of the land plot near the house, also will be set by the Ministry.

Now notaries check for debts from taxes, communal services and electricity.
