Renovated “Sport center shooting base” inaugurated

The grand opening ceremony of the Ministry of Defense’s “Sport Center Shooting Base” was held following a major reconstruction. The upgraded shooting base was modernized in accordance with the latest standards, 50 athletes can now train across three disciplines using 10- and 50-meter shooting ranges. The facility is equipped to host international competitions and training camps. 

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Sports, the First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, and young athletes. In their speeches, the speakers emphasized the improved conditions being created for athletes in Uzbekistan, noting that 101 large-scale and 67 reconstructed sports facilities are currently operating. The reconstruction of this “Sport Center Shooting Base” was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports in line with the Presidential Decree dated November 4, 2024. The aim is to prepare young athletes in shooting sports to obtain licenses for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Athletes who currently undergo Olympic preparation have also shared their opinion on the reconstructed facility. 

In addition to the shooting ranges, the center also houses a museum dedicated to athletes. The museum presents the history of shooting sports, photographs of victories at international competitions, and displays the trophies and awards won by athletes.
