Uzbekistan hosts republican cycling tournament in honor of Iskandarov
The Republican tournament in memory of Uzbekistan's honored coach Iskandarov is taking place from March 3 to 6 in the Bostanlyk district and Chirchik city of the Tashkent region. The competition features highway cycling races for men, women, and youth. In the second day, the group race covered a distance of 105 km for men and youth and 61 km for women and young girls.
The tournament featured 43 men, 113 boys, 25 women, and 51 girls. The competition saw Nikita Tsvetkov from the Surkhandarya region finish first among men, followed by Vadim Belugin and Ilyas Erkasym in the top three. In the youth category, Krill Zhang secured 1st place, with Artur Streltsov and Ozodbek Shokirov taking 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. Among women, Faina Potapova from the Taldykorgan team claimed 1st place, while Muhabbat Umutjanova and Mohinabonu Elmurodova finished 2nd and 3rd. In the young girls' category, Egamberdieva Nozima from the Jizzakh region team crossed the finish line first, followed by Angelina and Roksana. The group stage also saw participation from cyclists representing Kazakhstan. During this intense competition, some racers were unable to complete the required distance.
