ADB and Uzbekistan advance transport projects
On April 24, Deputy Minister of Transport met with Director General of the Transport Sector at the Asian Development Bank. During the meeting, they discussed the current status of projects in Uzbekistan involving the bank and issues related to new project development.
Hiroaki Yamaguchi highlighted the extensive portfolio of transport projects planned for implementation in Uzbekistan. He mentioned that the bank has assigned two representatives to work permanently in Tashkent to oversee project implementation.
They also discussed joint projects focusing on digitalizing the transport sector, establishing a situational center, and managing toll roads. Additionally, representatives from JSC "Uzbekistan Airports" gave presentations on the development and utilization of regional airports in Uzbekistan through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).
