Uzbekistan plans to increase its GDP to $100 billion over 5 years
Over the past two years, our country's gross domestic product has grown from $44 billion to $58 billion. The meeting stated that the overall goal of the government, the Central Bank and khokims at all levels will be to increase GDP by twice over the next 5 years - up to $ 100 billion, reduce the inflation rate to 5 percent, and increase consumer production.
A joint session of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis is underway in Tashkent.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the session.
– There are many problems and issues waiting to be resolved on the spot. The demands and requests of our people are increasing," the head of state said. – Therefore, all members of the new government are required to take a critical approach to the work of the areas they supervise and manage, implement the planned measures in excess, and fully implement the promises made to the people and Parliament. In short, efficiency in practice and the realization of the interests of the people will be the main criterion for evaluating the performance of each member of the government.
