Qatar Embassy opened in Tashkent
On May 7, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a meeting with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, H.E. Mr. Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed the urgent issues of the rapidly developing Uzbekistan-Qatar relations, the implementation of joint programs, the prospects for activating political dialogue, trade and investment relations, cultural-humanitarian and tourist exchanges. They exchanged views on the international and regional agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan.
On this day, a ceremony dedicated to the grand opening of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tashkent was held with the participation of the governments of the two countries, representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the public and mass media.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan noted that the Uzbek side considers Qatar an important, reliable and promising partner in the Arab world.
