Uzbekistan and Italy Forge $382 Million Agriculture Partnership
Uzbekistan will implement eight projects worth $382 million in agriculture in cooperation with Italian companies. This was announced after a meeting between Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurahmanov and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to Uzbekistan, Agostina Pinna. Minister Abdurahmanov highlighted the strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Italy in agriculture. Ambassador Pinna discussed the projects expected to be implemented and the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the agricultural ministries of both countries.
He also mentioned the readiness of the "CIVI Italia" association to establish an international nursery center in Surkhandarya. Furthermore, Ambassador Pinna proposed organizing a national stand at the MACFRUT international exhibition in Rimini, Italy, and showcasing local products on May 8-10. Additionally, the Italian company "Bonifice Ferraresi" expressed interest in producing agricultural products in Uzbekistan, with discussions underway for a significant investment project in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture.
