Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan Forum Boosts Bilateral Trade
The second Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan interregional forum may be organized. Ambassador Akmal Kochkarov of Uzbekistan held talks with Turkmenistan's Lebap region governor, Shohrat Amangeldiyev. The meeting aimed to boost trade and economic ties between the border regions of Bukhara (Uzbekistan) and Lebap, increasing mutual trade volumes. They discussed issues related to establishing the interregional forum.
The results of the Second Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan Interregional Forum in Bukhara on July 13, 2022, were highly appreciated. Trade and investment contracts exceeding $450 million were signed between businessmen of both countries.
Shuhrat Amangeldiyev expressed readiness to host this year's forum in Turkmanabad. The event is expected to involve representatives from all regions of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, featuring an exhibition of products from both countries.
Ideas were exchanged about organizing a business mission for Bukhara region's representatives to visit Lebap region. To further enhance trade and economic cooperation between Bukhara and Lebap regions, a working trip for Bukhara region's business representatives to Lebap was agreed upon in the second half of February.
