Uzbekistan's legal literacy increases by 30-40% in 5 years

The legal awareness of the population has increased significantly compared to the past five years. This is evident in various situations. For instance, when citizens are stopped by a policeman on the road, they request the employee to show their service card. However, more efforts are needed to achieve the desired goal. In this regard, meetings are being organized in several regions of Tashkent city under the slogan "my neighborhood - my judge".

An event took place at School 114 in the Chilonzor district. Neighborhood activists, teachers, and young people attended the meeting to discuss current issues.

The judges explained the importance of legal education to the audience and also provided several insights and recommendations. They emphasized the need to start teaching legal concepts from kindergarten and primary school levels. They mentioned that this practice is already in place in Great Britain, where young children are taught basic safety rules like obeying traffic lights and crossing roads only at designated spots. Similar efforts are underway in Uzbekistan, but they are not consistently implemented in many cases. Such initiatives can bring positive outcomes.
