World Meteorological Day is celebrated every year on March 23. As part of this day, a press tour was organized to the automatic air pollution monitoring station of the Uzhydromet Agency, which was installed near the People's Friendship Palace.
Monitoring of atmospheric air pollution at automatic stations is carried out online. Pollutants such as dust, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon oxide, ammonia and ozone can be detected in the air with the help of this station.
Information on atmospheric air pollution from observation points is received by Uzhydromet and collected in a unified database. This data will be published on the monitoring.meteo.uz public platform established as part of the project. Additionally, the Uzhydromet Agency's official social media channels will release updates daily at 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Three automatic stations are currently installed in Tashkent city for this purpose.
For reference, meteorological observations in Tashkent have been conducted since December 1867.
