Swiss days 2024 kick off in Tashkent
Switzerland days have begun in Tashkent. Within a week, several events that aimed at strengthening business ties between Uzbekistan and Switzerland, as well as supporting culture, arts, and education, will be held for the third time in Tashkent with the participation of over 30 Swiss companies. The official opening of the week was attended by the embassy of Switzerland, Ministry of the investments, industry and trade, general public and media representatives.
The week that focuses on “Quality, Innovation, and Reliability for Sustainable Development” began with the immersive art installation “BREATHE WITH ME” by Swiss artist Annabelle Schneider. Previously showcased at design weeks in New York and Barcelona, the installation explores themes of mindfulness and sustainable development, offering a unique artistic perspective on sustainable living.
Schneider’s work holds special significance for Uzbekistan, addressing critical environmental issues such as air quality and the consequences of the Aral Sea’s drying up. This “living” environment shows the power of art in responding to modern challenges. Within the Swiss Days, business forums are also planned. According to the Ambassador of Switzerland to Uzbekistan, the business program of the week focuses on 4 main topics.
For reference, the Switzerland Days will last until 27th November.
