Uzbek capital plans to commission two more private universities

The Uzbek capital is planning to commission two private universities: the Tashkent University of Applied Sciences and the Diplomatic University. The draft relevant government decrees have been published for discussion.

At the Tashkent University of Applied Sciences, along with the educational program of Uzbekistan, it is planned to introduce educational standards of British universities - higher educational institutions from the TOP-1000 world rankings of universities, with the involvement of their professors, teachers, scientists in the educational process and specialists. The training will be conducted in Uzbek, Russian and English in the following areas: information business systems, information security, mathematical modeling and forecasting, risk management, international financial reporting standards (IFRS), econometrics, business management, project management and others.

The admission of the first students is planned for the 2021/2022 academic year on a paid-contract basis, as well as through grants provided by potential employers and other sources. At the same time, the university will annually provide ten free places for applicants from socially vulnerable segments of the population with high academic performance.

As for the Diplomatic University being created, classes here will also be held in Uzbek, Russian and English in daytime, evening and distance (online) form on a paid-contract basis. Directions include: economics, information technology, jurisprudence and international relations. Also, graduates will be able to receive diplomas in a dual or related specialty.
