Uzbek youth meet with NASA astronaut
"Uzbekcosmos" agency held a forum at the Tashkent City Planetarium to increase the level of knowledge and skills of young people, students and schoolchildren in cosmonautics. During the forum, participants had a chance to organize an online meeting with a NASA astronaut.
"Uzbekcosmos" agency held a forum at the Tashkent City Planetarium to increase the level of knowledge and skills of young people, students and schoolchildren in cosmonautics. During the forum, participants had a chance to organize an online meeting with a NASA astronaut. They asked the questions they are interested in this field.
Forum started with the grand opening ceremony of the exhibition corner "The Great Founders of Astronomy".
Students from the President's School, and other universities participated the discussion with a cosmonaut and had the chance to learn more about his career, and achievements in this unique and interesting field. He has more than 40 years of aviation and space experience with the US Navy and NASA in various positions, including as a test pilot and program manager, NASA astronaut, and commander of the International Space Station. He also holds the NASA record for longest spacewalk (67 hours, 40 minutes). During the forum, an exhibition of space photos was held by "Uzbekcosmos" agency in the Planetarium building, where students were able to see various exclusive images taken from space.
