Uzbekistan launches rapid drug risk identification system
The Presidential Decree “On additional measures to regulate the pharmaceutical industry” has been approved. According to that, pharmacological control system will be implemented to quickly identify potential risks associated with drug use.
Additionally, starting from July 1, 2024: Organizations involved in the production, wholesale, and retail of drugs and medical products will now be designated as responsible entities for ensuring the public's access to drugs and medical products of guaranteed quality, safety, and effectiveness. They will be also mandated to enforce state control with special regulations.
Organizations engaged in drug and medical product manufacturing, wholesale, and retail must annually notify the authorized body to ensure compliance with licensing requirements. The content for advertising medicines and biologically active supplements on TV and radio channels will be broadcast based on the Ministry of Health's approval.
Customs and free warehouses established for storing medicines and medical supplies must adhere to the "Necessary Storage Practice - GSP" requirements.
