Uzbekistan to improve system of training youth in professions and foreign language

A new centre for training young people in foreign languages and targeted training for work in foreign countries will be established. According to the new governmental decision, the system of training young people in professions and foreign languages will be improved.

One of the main objectives of the Center is to facilitate the selection processes conducted by employers in Uzbekistan who are seeking to hire citizens willing to work abroad. Furthermore, the decree states that professional educational institutions will organize advanced training courses to equip students with professional skills and foreign language proficiency. Upon successful completion of these courses, graduates will receive an official document issued by the government.

The advanced training courses are conducted on a paid-contract basis, following educational programs that span up to one year. Additionally, students are provided with instruction in English, German, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and other foreign languages in high demand. If students independently study a foreign language and present an international or equivalent certificate, the state budget will cover 50 percent of the language study costs, with the maximum amount not exceeding 10 times the basic calculation.

To ensure the proficiency of individuals employed in foreign countries, it is necessary for the foreign country to obtain an internationally recognized certificate of at least B2 level proficiency in the relevant foreign language. For citizens going abroad based on the "Ausbildung" (dual education) program, a minimum B1 level proficiency in German is required.Teaching staff participating in professional development courses will receive an allowance of up to 100 percent of their monthly salary, depending on their performance.
