July 2-Day of Adoption of Emblem of Uzbekistan
On July 2, 1992, 32 years ago, the law "On the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted. Since that day, the image of the State emblem has taken its place on the stamps and letterheads of State institutions, official publications, paper and exchangeable coins, securities and civil passports, as well as other documents established by law.
Every color, line and symbol in the emblem has a deep symbolic meaning. The emblem is an image of the rising sun over the mountains, rivers and flowering valley, surrounded by a wreath consisting on the right of ears of wheat and on the left of cotton branches with open cotton bolls. In the upper part of the coat of arms is an octagon, symbolizing the sign of approval of the Republic, inside which is a crescent moon with a star. In the center of the emblem is a Humo bird with open wings - a symbol of happiness and freedom. At the bottom on the bow of the wreath ribbon, symbolizing the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an inscription "O'ZBEKISTON".
