Tourism cooperation between Uzbekistan and Yakutia

A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee Jamshid Abdusalomov, visited Yakutia to discuss tourism cooperation. The talks focused on increasing visitor flows and promoting cultural exchange between the two regions.

As part of the “Year of Uzbekistan Tourism in Russia,” Uzbekistan is actively promoting its rich historical and cultural heritage in Russia’s remote regions. Officials highlighted efforts to boost mutual tourism, particularly through educational programs for students and schoolchildren. The initiative aims to enhance cultural exchange and foster stronger ties between Uzbek and Yakut youth.

For reference, last year, Uzbekistan welcomed approximately 10.2 million foreign tourists, including 850,000 visitors from Russia. In 2025, the country expects to surpass 1 million Russian tourists, further strengthening bilateral tourism relations.
