1.2 million cars have been sold in Uzbekistan since beginning of year

This is twice as much as compared to the same period last year
According to the analysis of the experts of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, despite a significant decrease in the car market of Uzbekistan since the beginning of the year in October, the trend of growth in the level of activity remained. In particular, the decline in sales in the secondary car market was less severe than in the primary market.

The total number of motor vehicles sold in October was 112.7 thousand, which is 8% less than in September.It is reported that 1.2 million cars have been sold since the beginning of the year, which is twice as much (+604 thousand) compared to the same period last year.
Also, in October, sales of motor vehicles on the primary market increased by 2% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, a significant decrease in sales was observed compared to September of this year.

In addition, in October, sales of new domestically produced passenger cars fell by 33% to 17,000, compared to the same period last year, sales increased by only 1.5%.

In October, sales in the secondary car market in October decreased by 1.4% (91.7 thousand cars) compared to September.It is reported that the number of sales of new cars produced abroad in October amounted to 1.7 thousand and decreased by 8.5% per month. At the same time, there was a 21% increase compared to the same period last year.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan imported 1,749 electric cars worth 55.4 million US dollars from abroad in January-October 2022. This figure is 1136 more than last year.
