Aziz Abduhakimov: We will be able to increase the share of tourism up to 5% of GDP

January 15 saw a press-conference with the participation of the Chairman of the State Committee on tourism development Aziz Abduhakimov.

Answering questions of journalists, the head of the State Committee noted that the share of tourism in GDP of Uzbekistan is low and currently stays at only 2.3%, while in foreign countries, this figure reaches 10%.

"Of course, our potential is much higher. We need to increase the value and role of tourism. All our efforts give us reason to say that we have an opportunity to increase this figure to 5% in the coming years.
