Emirati Fund donates $27mn for construction of hospital in Nukus

The Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan Charitable Foundation has donated $27mn for the construction of a modern mother and child hospital in the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The relevant intergovernmental agreement was signed between the United Arab Emirates and the Uzbek government on May 26.

The new hospital, designed for 100 patients, unique in design and technical equipment, will include prenatal and maternity wards, wards for mothers and newborns, intensive care units for mothers and children, a surgical department, a hospital, outpatient and consultative diagnostic departments, laboratories.

Construction work is to be completed by the end of 2022. The new medical facility is to provide medical services to the population of the Aral Sea region.
