IFC allocates $150 million to Uzbekistan
International Finance Corporation (IFC) allocates $150 million to construct a thermal power plant in Syrdarya.
The 1,580 MW plant will provide more than 3 million people with efficient and cost-competitive electricity. The new plant will meet 17% of demand, represent 9.5% of total installed capacity, and avoid up to 2.8 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
The plant will be developed by a consortium that includes Electricité De France, Nebras Power, Sojitz Corporation and Kyuden International.
