SAMA initiates privatization process of Mobiuz

The State Assets Management Agency of Uzbekistan will select a consulting company on a competitive basis for the process of privatizing the state share in the authorized capital of Universal Mobile Systems LLC (Mobiuz).

Currently, the state owns 100% in the authorized capital of the telecommunications company Mobiuz.

"The realization process should be organized in accordance with the best world practice, taking into account the industry and individual specifics of the mobile telecommunications market and the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan," the AUCA specified.

The consultant, for its part, must provide all the required services for the sale of assets. At the same time, consultants can form a consortium to perform the required amount of work or provide joint proposals.

All interested applicants can submit their proposals in accordance with the Request for Proposals (RfP) below, no later than 18:00 (Tashkent time) on July 4, 2022.

“Preference is given to a consultant with relevant knowledge and experience in the field of digitalization and telecommunications,” the Agency stressed.

Universal Mobile Systems LLC (UMS LLC, under the Mobiuz trademark) is a telecommunications company in Uzbekistan that provides modern mobile voice communication and mobile Internet access services in 4G LTE, UMTS and GSM standards under the Mobiuz trademark.

The commercial launch of the mobile operator took place on December 1, 2014.
