Uzbekistan launches Scaling Solar 3 project

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has announced the launch of the Scaling Solar 3 project. It provides for the construction of three solar photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 500 MW in Bukhara, Namangan and Khorezm regions.

On October 18, 2019, the UAE company Masdar won the tender for the construction of a 100 MW FPP in Navoi region within the framework of Scaling Solar 1. As the project has proved its success, the government of Uzbekistan has decided to go further and signed an agreement with the International Finance Corporation signed to attract consulting services and increase the capacity of the Scaling Solar project to 1000 MW.
