Uzbekistan’s tax revenues grow by 20.3% in 2024
In 2024, tax revenues in Uzbekistan increased by over 20%. The largest contributions to this growth came from profit taxes, property taxes, and taxes on the use of natural resources and water.
In 2024, Uzbekistan’s tax revenues reached 199.6 trillion soums, marking significant growth of 24.4% across regions, 37% in districts, and 27% in Tashkent. Notable tax increases included profit tax, which increased by 29.1%, reaching 52.7 trillion soums, VAT increased by +16.4%, and reached 39.6 trillion soums, and natural resource taxes that increased by 31.8%, reaching 20.2 trillion soums. Taxes on property grew by 33.5%, and water use taxes saw a record rise of 48.3%.
The Tax Committee reported the restoration of operations for 64,500 small businesses and the creation of 134,800 new enterprises. The “Autocameral” system enabled voluntary tax adjustments totaling 37.9 trillion soums, avoiding 13.8 trillion soums in penalties.
Tax reporting is now nearly fully digitized, with e-invoicing growing by 17.3% and online cash registers recording transactions worth 261.1 trillion soums. Through initiatives like “Sunny House” and “Social Cashback,” subsidies and VAT refunds totaling 36.2 billion soums were distributed to users.
Additionally, over 31,000 entrepreneurs improved their financial stability ratings, with 1,100 “AAA” entities receiving instant VAT refunds of 1.9 trillion soums. In 2025, the Tax Committee plans to enhance digital services, implement targeted monitoring systems, and strengthen measures against the shadow economy.
