Uzbekistan supports plans to expand strategic partnership with Hungary’s OTP group
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the Board of the largest Hungarian bank, OTP, Sándor Csányi. The sides discussed issues of further deepening cooperation with leading Hungarian enterprises.
The meeting highlighted the positive dynamics of cooperation in the banking and financial sectors, including within the framework of the implemented deal on the sale of the state stake in Ipoteka Bank to OTP Group.
The head of Uzbekistan stressed the importance of improving the quality of the bank's services through digitalization, the introduction of innovative and affordable financial products for small and family businesses, and the training of the staff in the best European practices.
The issues of further deepening cooperation with leading Hungarian enterprises in agriculture, winemaking, irrigation, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and other industries, including on the basis of the special economic zone being created for Hungarian companies in the Tashkent region, were also discussed.
In turn, Sándor Csányi confirmed the intention of Hungarian business to actively expand its presence in the market of Uzbekistan.
At the end of the meeting, the chairman of the board of OTP Bank expressed his deep gratitude to the leader of Uzbekistan for the high assessment of his activity and the presentation of the state award - the Order "Dustlik.".
