Uzbekistan to renovate Alisher Navoiy`s mausoleum

The mausoleum of Alisher Navoiy located in Afghanistan is to be reconstructed through the budget funds of Uzbekistan. The Uzbek president Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this as he scrutinized the projects in the field of tourism and urban infrastructure on Monday.

The task to study the possibilities of construction and improvement works in the Alisher Navoiy memorial complex in the Afghan city of Herat was defined in the President's decree "On wide celebration of the 580th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoiy" dated October 19, 2020.

According to the project presented, pedestals in the form of open books with the wise words of Alisher Navoi, and decorative benches would be placed at the entrance and in the courtyard, the restoration of the mausoleum would include the elements of traditional architecture, art and decor.

One of the projects involves the construction of various infrastructure facilities along the Chirchik River of Tashkent. The length of the river section is running through 6 kilometers. It is now planned to narrow the river bed, build modern housing on the newly opened territory, create recreational, production and service zones.

Presentations included the project for the reconstruction of the bridge over the Small Ring Road leading to the Tashkent International Airport. It aims at simplifying the movement of vehicles and increase safety on this site. The current structure was built in 1967. With the development of the capital and the growth in the number of cars, the need arose to build a roundabout at the intersection of the bridge with the Small Ring Road. The overpass would be lengthened to 650 meters and its width to 30 meters.

The president was also presented with investment projects in the Technopark.

The government plans to produce 1mn washing machines annually, plans include 15 thousand tons of copper pipes, 3 thousand industrial water heaters, 75 thousand commercial refrigerators and freezers and many other types of devices.

Presentations revealed that this year`s agenda eyes at the creation of more than 2,000 jobs.
