Nodirbek Abdusattorov Surges to Fourth in FIDE Ratings

Chess player Nodirbek Abdusattorov climbed to fourth place in the FIDE rating at the end of March. He achieved a score of 2765 points, surpassing Chinese world champion Ding Liren (2762) and other notable players. Magnus Carlsen from Norway holds the top spot with 2830 points, followed by American players Hikaru Nakamura (2789) and Fabiano Caruana (2803). Abdusattorov, a 19-year-old from Uzbekistan, holds the national record.

Previously, Rustam Kasimjanov held the highest rank, reaching 11th place with 2715 points. The Elo rating system, developed by Hungarian/American professor Arpad Elo, calculates the relative strength of players in two-player sports like chess based on their game results. In chess, players are categorized into nine tiers, with the highest starting at 2600 points and the lowest below 1200 points.
