Uzbekistan's Football Association Wins Top Honor
The Football Association of Uzbekistan secured the "Best Football Association of the Year" award at the "AFC Annual Awards" in Doha, Qatar. Uzbekistan's successful hosting of events like the U-23 and U-20 Asian championships and AFC member associations' conferences played a pivotal role in this recognition. The association actively participated in various regional and international tournaments, including women's football and CAFA competitions.
Among the nominees were the Iranian Football Federation and the Japanese Football Association. Additionally, other winners at the event included Guam Soccer Association for the Federation of the Year (Ruby), Hong Kong Football Association for the Gold category, Lebanese Football Association for the Diamond category, and the Football Association of Uzbekistan clinched the top prize in the Platinum category for the "Best Federation of the Year."
The Central Asian Football Association bagged the title for "Best Regional Football Federation of the Year." Moreover, notable mentions were the Football Federation of India winning the Bronze for Youth Football Development, Football Australia securing the Gold Award for Youth Football Federation of the Year, and Guam Soccer Association for the Silver in Youth Soccer Development.
Individual awards were also presented, such as "The best referees of the year" including representatives from Australia and the UAE. Notable players recognized were Samantha Kerr (Australia) for "Women's Player of the Year" and Salim al-Dawsari (Saudi Arabia) for "The best male player of the year." The ceremony also honored coaches and emerging young talents in football and futsal.
