Chairman of U.S. House of representatives committee in senate of Oliy Majlis
First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoyev met with a delegation of the US Congress headed by Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Mike Rogers. The sides discussed a wide range of Uzbek-American cooperation, in particular, issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, developing cooperation in trade, economic and labor relations.
During the conversation, the sides noted the role and effectiveness of the activities aimed at expanding ties between the parliaments of the two countries within the framework of the "Cocus on Uzbekistan" friendship group established in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Issues of economic cooperation were also in the spotlight. It was noted that the U.S.-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce, which includes 38 leading companies, is making a significant contribution to strengthening the bilateral strategic partnership. The sides exchanged views on expanding investment partnership and enhancing ties between the business circles of the two countries.
At the end of the dialog, the sides expressed readiness to further expand and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
