President met Vietnamese Parliamentary Delegation
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Vietnamese delegation led by Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, who arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Vietnamese delegation conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek leader from General Secretary of the Communist Party To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The sides held a comprehensive discussion on expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Vietnam, with a particular focus on trade, economic, and investment areas. The importance of establishing a systematic approach to intergovernmental and interagency dialogue was emphasized. Both parties highlighted the need for the productive organization of the upcoming session of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum, set to take place in Hanoi this year.
To promote new projects, an agreement was reached to develop a comprehensive industrial cooperation program in energy, geology, petrochemicals, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture, and other sectors. Particular attention was paid to enhancing cultural and tourism exchanges, including through the introduction of a visa-free regime.
The meeting also underscored the importance of intensifying inter-parliamentary dialogue to ensure the effective implementation of joint initiatives.
