President receives heads of parliamentary delegations from CA countries

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the heads of parliamentary delegations of Central Asian countries who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The joint meeting was attended by Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Republic of Tajikistan Faizali Idizoda, and Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova.

The distinguished guests conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from their respective leaders to the President of Uzbekistan, emphasizing the significance of hosting such a major international event in the region for the first time. The meeting focused on the further strengthening of friendly, good-neighborly, strategic, and allied relations among the brotherly nations.

The participants positively assessed the outcomes of the first “Central Asia – European Union” Summit and the Climate Forum held on April 4 in the city of Samarkand.

Special emphasis was placed on the active high-level and top-level contacts, highlighting the historic nature of recent meetings in the region, including the full resolution of border delimitation issues and the signing of the Agreement on the Junction Point of the State Borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan in Khujand.

In recent years, trade turnover among the countries of the region has increased manifold, and cross-border trade zones are being established.

Joint cooperation projects are successfully being implemented in various economic sectors, including regional collaboration. Cultural and educational partnerships are also expanding through a number of joint programs.

The meeting also underlined the importance of strengthening parliamentary dialogue, including through committee-level cooperation. The meeting is seen as vital bridge for fostering closer ties between nations and peoples, advancing joint initiatives and cooperation projects, and enhancing interregional and humanitarian exchanges.
