President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Took the Oath of Office

Re-elected President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to his compatriots and noted that his election as President is another high recognition of the country's policy to ensure human rights, freedom, and people’s interests.

“The slogan "Every day is an opportunity, every day is a foundation for the future" should become a rule of our life from today, a program of daily activities of every leader, all people's deputies, ministers and governors," the head of state said.

As stated in the constitution, Uzbekistan will become a social state.

Mirziyoyev said that together with the general public, he will fulfil the tasks set at the pre-election meetings.  Among all political rights, Uzbekistan unconditionally guarantees freedom of consent and beliefs. A policy of democracy and openness will be pursued, and the activities of constructive opposition, freedom of speech and press, and citizens' rights to receive, use and disseminate information will be guaranteed.

Fundamental changes will take place in the economic sector.

The principles of "green economy" and "green energy" will be more widely implemented. Investments in our economy will increase several times. By 2030, the goal is to bring our GDP to 160 billion dollars.

Toward the end of his speech, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted his willingness to work tirelessly for the people of Uzbekistan and his confidence to create a New Uzbekistan together.
