Wages of preventive inspectors to increase by 60%

On February 12, President Mirziyoyev chaired in an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The meeting critically reviewed the work of the internal affairs bodies in the field of combating crime, ensuring public safety and preventing offenses.

"We have created all the conditions for the work of law enforcement agencies, provided them with the most modern equipment. They have the necessary powers, and resources. But the result is not as expected. There is no consistency in the activities of the bodies, they do not manage to properly establish vertical management. And our people are dissatisfied with their work, " said Mirziyoyev.

He gave instructions to ensure order and discipline.

In the meantime, due to preventive measures, not a single crime was recorded in more than 4,500 neighborhoods last year.

The President also urged to improve the effectiveness of the work of prevention inspectors.

"Mayors have never talked with prevention inspectors, they know nothing about them. They don`t know their work schedule, the conditions of their families. Meanwhile, it is prevention inspectors who have to do the most extensive work. They do everything at once, spends a lot of time, while their direct task remains pending. If we create conditions for them, if they are satisfied with the state, many issues would be resolved," added Mirziyoyev.

He also set a task to reduce paperwork and bureaucracy and digitalize office work.

"The internal affairs officers serve the people day and night. We have witnessed their dedication amid the pandemic, in the days of the incidents in Bukhara and Sardoba. All this should be taken into account when determining the amount of wages. Therefore, this year the salary of all employees of the internal affairs will be increased by 30%, and the employees directly involved in ensuring public security, that is, those who serve in the neighbourhoods — by 60%.", concluded Mirziyoyev.
