A Gender Audit Institute is being created in Uzbekistan
At the thirty-fifth plenary session of the Senate, the law "On additions and amendments to the law "On guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for women and men" was considered.
At the thirty-fifth plenary session of the Senate, the law "On additions and amendments to the law "On guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for women and men" was considered.
According to the law, the activity of studying and assessing compliance with the requirements of guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for women and men, as well as a comprehensive approach to gender, is defined as a gender audit.
The main tasks of conducting the audit are to study the ratio of the number of women and men in state bodies, based on a comprehensive approach to gender. It is also defined as an assessment of the implementation of legislation in the field of gender equality.
According to the law, public control of state organizations will be conducted on the basis of the 3-year gender audit plan, and information and suggestions on its results will be sent to the Republican Commission on Gender Equality and Family Issues (Commission).
Information on the results of the gender audit will be posted on the official website of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan.
The law was approved by senators.
