Health system of Uzbekistan may collapse

A member of the Covid-19 commission staff Habibulla Akilov in his yesterday remarks said there were no beds left at hospitals, and therefore asymptomatic patients were allowed to be treated at home and in hotels.

Today, he made a repeated address in which he said that a number of citizens misunderstood him. According to him, there are now reserves of medicines and beds throughout the Republic. However, if the daily growth continues at the current level, they may not be enough.

"Everything I said is true. And I don't retract my words. Since the first days of the pandemic, our government has fulfilled all its responsibilities. Stocks of medicines and beds have been prepared. We wanted to say that if the current statistics continue, the reserves may not be enough. But now there are enough conditions, " Akilov said.

A day earlier, Akilov noted that over the past week, 300-350 citizens with COVID-19 are detected every day, but these are only detected cases of the disease.

If the figure reaches 1000-1500 new patients per day, "the health system of Uzbekistan will collapse completely," Akilov said.
