Over 300 drivers fined for emitting harmful substances into air
During the first stage of "Clean Air" month, which began on April, almost 60,000 vehicles underwent environmental inspections across Uzbekistan. The focus is on monitoring the emission levels of motor vehicles to save air quality.
The purpose of this initiative is to ensure compliance with environmental regulations outlined in specific laws, including Articles 16, 17, and 28 of the "Atmospheric Air Protection" law, as well as Article 11 of the "Environmental Control" law.
From these inspections, it was determined that 518 vehicles were emitting harmful substances into the atmosphere. As a result, 303 drivers were fined 50 million soums for violations. Additionally, the operation of 222 vehicles was temporarily stopped. This effort will cover a total of 200,000 vehicles by the end of the first phase of "Clean Air" month.
