In the first quarter of 2024, over 4,000 Uzbek citizens were prosecuted for domestic violence, the press service of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan reports.
In particular, Article 59-2 (family (domestic) violence) of the Administrative Liability Code - 4,343 persons were convicted, of whom 2,344 were fined and 1,999 were arrested;
Article 126-1 (family (domestic) violence) of the Criminal Code - 134 persons were convicted, of whom 51 were sentenced to deprivation of liberty and 83 to non-custodial penalties.
