Tashkent International Film Festival "Silk Road Pearl" kicks off in the capital
Today, on September 14, the opening ceremony of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" kicked off in the capital. Actors from 40 countries of the world arrived at Tashkent.
As part of the international event, 150 feature films, documentaries and short films from world producers will be shown. Most of them are winners of other international film festivals and competitions. Over 20 events related to film production, education, demonstration of films, and the filming process of films will be held during the film festival.
"The purpose of this film festival is, of course, the development of Uzbek cinema. After that, each of our directors, young talents of the film industry, each of our projects will be at a level at which they will be able to raise the prestige of our country. For example, the project "Cinema in 5 days" aroused intense interest among many foreign specialists. After all, such opportunities provided to young talents are not found in every country." said Barno Ungboeva, adviser to the Director General of the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan for Information Policy.
