Uzbek MPs propose to raise age of criminal responsibility from 13 to 14 years

The Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan is considering a bill to raise the age of bringing minors to criminal responsibility from 13 to 14 years, MP Rasul Kusherbayev said in his Telegram channel.

The draft assumes amendments in accordance with the presidential decree of August 9, 2021 "On measures to further improve the system of ensuring guarantees of the rights of the child."Kusherbayev emphasizes that this practice can also be traced in foreign countries: "In Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, the age at which criminal responsibility begins is 14 years old."
