Uzbekistan launches new platform for inclusive employment
The public association of persons with disabilities Sharoit Plus has launched a project to provide people with disabilities with decent work on the open labor market through a special recruiting web portal ishplus.uz. The creation and operation of the portal was supported by the Ministry of Labor and the Joint UN Program to strengthen social protection in Uzbekistan.
The portal aims to help able-bodied people with disabilities who are experiencing difficulties in finding a decent job, as well as to help employers find qualified employees. To apply, a person with a disability should fill out a resume form online or prepare it with the help of a specialist's consultation by phone. This creates a database of applicants with disabilities.
The portal encourages employers in the private and public sectors to open available vacancies by providing consulting services on the advantages, benefits and preferences of employment of persons with disabilities. The project coordinators explain in detail the legal obligations of employers to fulfill the 3% quota of employment of such persons.
All social services for job search and adaptation in the open labor market are carried out online-through a recruitment portal, project channels in social networks and a special Telegram bot.
