Uzbekistan receives 660,000 AstraZeneca vaccines

The Uzbek capital has received 660,000 out of 2,25mn doses of AstraZeneca vaccine. The country plans to vaccinate 20% of its population by the end of the year.

As the city of Tashkent registered the highest number of cases with 92 people, the authorities have made a decision to limit mass events. If the situation worsens, from April 1, the government may ban events that gather huge crowds.
Prime Minister Abdulla Oripov on Tuesday recommended the population to hold festivities dedicated to the upcoming holiday Navruz in open areas, modestly, without pomp.
