The Uzbek government plans to install 2500 charging stations for e-cars by 2050
From January 1, 2024, charging stations will be placed on newly constructed shopping and business centers, entertainment, and recreational facilities, gas stations, hotels, and infrastructure facilities along highways of international and national significance. This is stated in the presidential decree “On measures to expand the infrastructure for the use of electric vehicles”, signed today. The Ministry of Construction ensures that appropriate changes are made to the technical regulation documents.
A government program to increase the number of charging stations to 2,500 by the end of 2024 will also be approved. The program includes:
-In 2023, the land will be auctioned for the installation of 1,400 charging stations from territories adjacent to power grids, transformers, and substations;
- Construction of at least 500 charging stations in the territories adjacent to highways of international and national importance;
-It is assumed that in 2023-2024, the free territories of state bodies and organizations will be auctioned through K-trade to accommodate at least 500 charging stations.
From January 1, 2023, entrepreneurs will be granted the right to sell electricity through charging stations. At the same time, the tariff (cost) of the service is set by entrepreneurs independently, regardless of the approved electricity tariff.
From 2023 to 2026:
-land plots where charging stations and parking lots where they are installed are located are subject to land tax, and charging stations are subject to property tax;
- entrepreneurs whose main activity is the provision of catering services for vehicles are exempt from income tax, and income from the provision of catering services for vehicles is exempt from turnover tax;
-imported charging stations, their components, and technological equipment for service infrastructure are exempt from customs duty.
The heads of the regions and the Ministry of Energy were instructed to take measures to install at least 1 (4-channel) charging station with a capacity of 60 kW at gasoline, diesel, and gas filling stations for cars operating until December 1, 2023.
To date, there are 4,652 gas stations in the republic, of which 1,443 are for liquefied gas, 983 for liquefied gas, and 2,226 for gasoline and diesel fuel.
The Agency for Technical Regulation, together with the ministries and departments concerned, was instructed to prepare a draft resolution providing for the establishment of common requirements and uniform standards for the installation, operation, and connection to the power grid of charging stations, as well as services. The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction has been instructed to complete the creation of the Green Economy Development Fund by July 1, 2023.
