UK traditional arts school plans long-term project in Uzbekistan
The Director of the Traditional Arts School under the Royal Foundation of the United Kingdom, Dr. Khalid Azzam, is on a visit to Uzbekistan. His visit aims to establish a long-term partnership focused on founding a traditional arts center in Tashkent.
This visit marks the beginning of active cooperation between the Traditional Arts School and Uzbek institutions. The proposed center will teach younger generations how to understand, value, and practice their cultural heritage.
As part of the program, a series of master classes were organized to introduce the school’s educational philosophy and methodology. Participants explored the basics of geometric design and its role in traditional Uzbek architecture, gaining both theoretical and hands-on knowledge.
The event provided an opportunity for exchange between international experts and Uzbek scholars, especially in fields like calligraphy and geometry in sacred art.
The visit is part of a broader program initiated by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art, which includes lectures, workshops, and training sessions focused on preserving and promoting traditional arts in contemporary education and practice.
