Uzbekistan to launch new paid tourism experiences in 2025

Uzbekistan will introduce new types of paid tourism starting January 1, 2025, under the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, effective from September 26, 2024. The decision aims to enhance the country's tourism potential by offering new experiences for both local and foreign visitors. These include:

- Industrial tourism: Visitors can learn about production processes.

- Geological tourism: Visitors can observe mining operations for gold, ore, and other minerals, visit inactive geological sites, and watch rock-blasting activities from a safe distance. Excursions and expert interactions will also be organized in mountainous areas.

- Scientific tourism: Tourists can explore scientific achievements through visits to research institutes, laboratories, observatories, planetariums, and the Academy of Sciences.

- Military tourism: This includes visits to places of military history, participation in memorial events, and exploring the lives of military personnel. Paid services will also be offered in shooting ranges.

- State-administrative tourism: Visitors can tour places reflecting the political life of the country, such as government buildings and state organizations.

Various ministries and organizations are responsible for implementing these new tourism services, creating procedures, and managing funds. These include the Ministries of Ecology, Economy, Investments, Mining, Defense, Justice, Higher Education, and the Academy of Sciences, as well as the Chamber of Commerce. These agencies are expected to adopt the necessary documents within two months.

Additionally, the Ministry of Defense will offer the following services to tourists starting January 1, 2025:

- Introduction to military equipment and weapons at the "Victory Park" memorial complex, "Glory," "Armed Forces" state museums, and "Patriots" parks in different regions.

- The Ministry's Center for Higher Sports Results Development will launch paid services for "stand shooting" and firearms shooting at the Qibray sports complex.
